Youth For Christ Rwanda (YFC Rwanda) is a Christian, interdenominational organization committed to reaching young people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping them become lifelong followers of Christ. To strengthen the management and maintenance of its facilities and organizational assets, YFC Rwanda invites qualified and committed individuals to apply for the position of Maintenance and Asset Care Technician.

Responsibilities or duties

The Maintenance and Asset Care Technician will be responsible for ensuring that YFC Rwanda's buildings, equipment, furniture, utilities, and other physical assets are maintained in a safe, functional, and efficient condition. The successful candidate will lead preventive maintenance activities, carry out technical repairs, coordinate specialized maintenance services, and contribute to the effective management of organizational facilities and assets.

Qualifications or requirements 

Applicants should possess:

  • An Advanced Diploma (A1) or Bachelor's Degree (A0) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
  • Practical skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, equipment servicing, and preventive maintenance.
  • Good computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience needed

At least three (3) years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance, technical services, or asset maintenance.

Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)

Experience in a Christian organization, NGO, educational institution, or similar environment will be an added advantage.

  • Be committed born-again Christians with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Demonstrate Christian integrity and a lifestyle consistent with biblical values.
  • Agree with and uphold the Youth For Christ International Statement of Faith, Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
  • Be willing to participate actively in staff devotions, prayer meetings, and other spiritual formation activities.
  • Be committed to supporting the ministry of Youth For Christ Rwanda.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and organizational assets.
  • Coordinate external technicians and contractors for specialized repairs.
  • Maintain maintenance records and prepare monthly reports.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
  • Support the management, protection, and proper utilization of organizational assets.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from departments and project sites.
