Summary
• The Marketing Coordinator will help execute YLabs’ marketing and communication strategy from the Rwanda office. This includes but is not limited to social media, public relations, content creation, and email marketing. The role will also provide support to our project teams’ communications deliverables. This position works closely with the US-based Senior Marketing & Communications Specialist (SMCS) and Rwanda-based Senior Digital Communications Specialist, as part of the Marketing & Communications team at YLabs.

Key Responsibilities
• Implement YLabs’ communications strategy and workplan across channels
• Manage the social media editorial calendar
• Collaborate with the communication and design team to create visually engaging and impactful marketing content, including graphics, short videos, and infographics.
• Work with project teams to create digital marketing strategies for our project work and create compelling content for our blog, social media, and external publications
• Execute YLabs’ social media campaigns for key days, topic themes, and to disseminate stories of our work and impact
• Promote key events, campaigns, and partnerships where YLabs is involved
• Execute digital advertising strategy, developing campaigns across channels
• Analyze campaign performance and optimize for effective results
• Monitor and analyze social media trends and audience engagement to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Manage the collection and storage of communications assets, including photos, videos, and content from project teams
• Contribute to the development of marketing collateral, such as brochures, flyers, and presentations, to enhance brand visibility and messaging.
• Support YLabs’ staff to be effective, consistent, and impactful in their external communications about our work
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of YLabs' marketing and communications efforts through active participation in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and sharing best practices.

You Have
• 2-4 years of professional experience in a communications role, especially in social media Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, or related field
• A strong commitment to YLabs’ mission, vision, and values
• Exceptional writing and editorial skills with high attention to detail; the ability to effectively tailor the style and voice to the intended audience
• Superb organizational skills
• Previous experience managing a robust social media presence across multiple platforms and brands (i.e. Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube)
• Familiarity with digital advertising platforms (social media ads, Google Ads)
• Experience with creating short, compelling videos for social media
• Exemplary time management skills with the ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment

Desirable skills:
• Proficiency in website management, ideally Squarespace or similar
• Experience in media relations and building an organization’s media profile
• Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and/or in video editing software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.)
• Written or verbal fluency in Kinyarwanda or French

Location
• This role is based out of YLabs’ office in Kigali Rwanda (hybrid working).
YLabs adheres to Project Fair’s principles and standards to establish equity in pay with the overriding principle of “equal pay for work of equal value” outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals. All salary ranges are based on level within the organization and are competitive to regional and national salary benchmarks, based on the respective office location.
• The salary for this role is gross 15,400,000 RWF - 18,700,000 RWF per year, commensurate with experience.
