We are committed to sharing our school’s story with clarity, creativity, and purpose — and we are looking for a talented Marketing & Communications Officer to help us do exactly that.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of School or a designated senior leader, the Marketing & Communications Officer will be responsible for shaping and delivering the school’s brand presence across all channels — digital, print, social, and community. • Maintain and update the school website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and optimised for search
  • Produce high-quality marketing materials including prospectuses, brochures, newsletters, event programmes, and digital assets
  • Lead the school’s enrolment and admissions marketing efforts, including open days, school tours, and prospective family communications
  • Write compelling copy for a range of audiences — prospective families, current community members, alumni, and the broader public
  • Manage internal communications, including parent newsletters, school announcements, and staff bulletins
  • Coordinate photography and videography for school events, ensuring a strong visual archive of school life
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and international media, managing press releases and media enquiries
  • Plan and support school events, open days, graduation ceremonies, and community initiatives from a communications perspective
  • Track and report on marketing performance using analytics tools, making data-informed recommendations for improvement
  • Manage the marketing budget, supplier relationships, and external agency partnerships

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated experience in a marketing, communications, or PR role (school or education sector experience an advantage)
  • Strong copywriting skills in English, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and channels
  • Proficiency in social media management and content creation across major platforms
  • Experience with website content management systems
  • Working knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for producing digital and print materials
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and the confidence to work with senior leadership and diverse stakeholder groups

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a school, university, or education-sector communications role
  • Familiarity with IB schools and the international school market
  • Proficiency in photography, videography, or video editing (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar)
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Brevo) and CRM or admissions systems
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and digital advertising (Google Ads, Meta Ads)
  • Multilingual ability — French and Kinyarwanda is an added advantage

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Collaborative working environment within a respected international school community
