EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • He/she must have Bachelor’s degree (A0) as a registered Nutrition/dietetics
  • He/she should have a Minimum of 1 to 3 years of working experience in a Complex Hospital
  • He/she must have Experience in clinical Nutrition/dietetics Practice
  • Requires appropriate qualification plus registration with Health Professions Council of Rwanda as clinical Nutrition/ dietetics

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Willing and able to deliver services effectively and efficiently in order to meet client requirements.
  • Teaching & management skills is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of health & safety standards and requirements is an added advantage
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to analyze detailed information
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of interactions between medications and patient nutrition, including appropriate timing of food intake in relation to drug ingestion or injection, and provide guidance to ensure safe and effective treatment outcomes.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of proper nutrition principles and identify the health impacts of inadequate or incorrect nutrition on patient recovery, disease prevention, and overall well-being.
  • Assess and manage the nutritional implications of congenital or acquired enzyme deficiencies and other metabolic conditions that affect nutrient absorption, and recognize associated disease patterns.
  • Identify circumstances that may contribute to an unsafe environment for patients or staff, and promptly report such concerns to the Director of Patient and Allied Medical Services (PAMs) in line with hospital safety protocols.
  • Operate within the defined scope of practice for Dietitians in Rwanda, and support the monitoring of dietetic practices within the hospital to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
  • Adhere to and support institutional processes related to Peer Review and Credentialing, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Follow established clinical guidelines for patient nutritional assessment, ensuring accurate evaluation, documentation, and individualized nutrition care planning.
  • Promote and support patient education by providing clear, culturally appropriate nutritional counseling to enhance understanding, compliance, and long-term health outcomes.
