JOB OVERVIEW

The Project Manager will lead the Imbaraga z’Isôoko (IZI Project), a youth-focused initiative aimed at creating dignified and sustainable employment opportunities in rural areas in Rulindo District.

The role will involve strategic planning, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of project activities to ensure long-term impact.

The Project Manager will work closely with district authorities and key stakeholders, including private sector actors such as mining sector in Rulindo, to enhance job creation for young Girls (80%) and local economic development for both Men and women.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION & RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of project activities in line with approved work plans
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery of project outputs and outcomes
  • Integrate sustainability and scalability approaches into all interventions
  • Oversee project budgets and ensure efficient utilization of resources
  • Work closely with finance teams to track expenditures and ensure compliance
  • Support procurement and logistical planning

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & PARTNERSHIPS

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with district-level government authorities and community leaders
  • Collaborate with private sector partners (e.g., Rutongo Mine) to promote employment opportunities
  • Represent the organization in coordination meetings and forums

TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Supervise and support project staff to ensure efficient implementation
  • Set performance targets and conduct regular reviews
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment

MONITORING, EVALUATION & LEARNING

  • Oversee data collection, tracking, and reporting of key performance indicators
  • Ensure alignment with project results framework and donor requirements
  • Promote learning and adaptive management based on evidence
