Mission/Core Purpose of the Job

The Social Media and Internal Communication Specialist is responsible for strengthening the organization’s brand presence and internal engagement through effective digital communication. The role focuses on managing social media platforms, driving meaningful audience engagement, and delivering timely, consistent internal communications that align with the company’s brand strategy and business objectives.

Key Performance Areas

  • Develop a monitoring and evaluation mechanism
  • Oversee communication needs assessments for MoMo.
  • Provide strategic support for the communications staff recruitment
  • Coordinate media engagement plans
  • Oversee the development of MoMo calendar.
  • Prepare communication planning around the message calendar
  • Analyses media reports on MoMo.
  • Propose an appropriate response to emerging issues
  • Assess the impact of MoMo messaging on media trends
  • Review MoMo press engagement
  • Collect and review source documents from MoMo departments
  • Advise MoMo team on communication priorities
  • Draft/edit content for MoMo online properties & external briefings
  • Prepare and upload materials on MoMo platforms
  • To draft new stories/ releases/ statements in coordination with supervisors.
  • Upload new stories on MoMo websites
  • Support new followers on Twitter and Facebook
  • Manage media database
  • Develop media engagement/handling plan
  • Arrange interviews with key MoMo spokespeople
  • Supervise coverage of MoMo key events, Delivery Leadership.

Experience

  • Two (2) years of working experience in Communication, Public Relations, Political Sciences, International Relations, Journalism.
  • Extensive knowledge of report writing and presentation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in audiovisual production and dissemination.

Education Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Sciences, and International Relations.
  • Master’s degree in communication, Public Relations, Political Sciences, International Relations, or Journalism would be advantageous
