The Store In-Charge will be responsible for the overall management of the paint warehouse/store, ensuring accurate stock control, proper handling of materials, compliance with FIFO principles, and safeguarding company inventory. The role demands a high level of integrity, discipline, and operational control.
Responsibilities or duties
Inventory & Store Operations
- Manage stock inwards and outwards of paints, thinners, and related materials
- Verify goods received against delivery notes, GRNs, batch numbers, and expiry dates
- Ensure strict FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO practices where applicable
- Maintain accurate stock bin cards for each item and batch
- Ensure proper labeling, stacking, and segregation of materials by batch and expiry
- Monitor slow-moving, near-expiry, and obsolete stock and report timely
Documentation & Controls
- Prepare and maintain Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) and Store Issue Notes (SINs)
- Coordinate with accounts for stock reconciliation and month-end closing
- Support physical stock counts, cycle counts, and audits
- Ensure discrepancies, damages, shortages, and leakages are promptly reported
- Maintain proper filing of all store-related documents
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure storage complies with paint safety, fire, and environmental standards
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of the warehouse
- Ensure restricted access to store areas and control key materials
- Adhere to company SOPs and internal control policies
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with sales, logistics, and production teams for timely dispatches
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly stock movement and balance reports
- Assist in system-based stock updates (ERP / accounting software)
- Ensure accurate handover during shifts or leave periods
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience as Store In-Charge / Warehouse Supervisor (preferably in paints, chemicals, or FMCG)
- Strong hands-on experience in batch-wise stock management and expiry control
- Experience working with FIFO/FEFO systems and bin cards is mandatory
- Experience with inventory modules in ERP or accounting software is an advantage
Skills & Competencies:
- High level of integrity, honesty, and accountability
- Strong attention to detail and record accuracy
- Ability to manage teams, workloads, and deadlines
- Good communication skills in English (knowledge of Kinyarwanda is an advantage)
- Basic computer skills (Excel, inventory systems)
- Physically fit and able to manage warehouse operations

- Salary will be as per industry standards and commensurate with experience
