Overview
The institution is seeking a well-organized and detail-oriented Storekeeper / Inventory Officer to manage stock operations, maintain accurate inventory records, ensure timely procurement, and uphold stock control best practices. The role ensures effective utilization, safekeeping, and distribution of institutional assets and materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Update stock cards and monitor material availability
- Report damaged materials and advise on appropriate action
- Track inventory levels and prepare purchase requisitions when necessary
- Ensure the safe keeping of materials, both in terms of quality and quantity
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of stock movement and storage
- Perform regular stock taking and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reports to the Director of Administration and Finance
- Issue equipment and materials after approval and maintain proper logs
- Ensure adherence to relevant stock management laws and regulations
- Provide technical advice on proper stock management procedures and practices
- Submit periodic reports as required
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor related to inventory and store management
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in any of the following fields (no prior work experience required):
- Economics
- Management / Business Administration
- Accounting / Finance
- Purchasing and Supply Chain Management
- Store or Logistics Management
- Assets Management
Required Competencies and Technical Skills
- Resource management
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Decision-making and time management
- Risk management
- Results-oriented mindset
- Digital literacy (especially in inventory systems)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Languages
- Proficiency in English is required
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and/or French is an added advantage
Assessment Process
Shortlisted candidates will undergo a three-stage assessment:
- Psychometric Test (covering: critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, analytical skills, and time management)
- Written Examination
- Oral Interview
