The Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) is seeking a Research Specialist to join their team. This role is crucial for supporting the Institute's research and consultancy assignments.

Responsibilities or duties

1. Design research methodologies and develop quantitative and qualitative data collection tools for research and consultancy assignments.

2. Coordinate the implementation of research projects, including planning, data collection, data management, quality assurance, and reporting.

3. Analyse qualitative and quantitative data using appropriate analytical techniques and software, and contribute to the interpretation of research findings.

4. Draft, review, and edit research reports, technical reports, policy briefs, and other research publications.

5. Participate in the preparation of research proposals, consultancy proposals, concept notes, and grant applications in response to identified opportunities.

6. Identify research and consultancy opportunities by monitoring public tenders, calls for proposals, and funding opportunities, and contribute to the preparation of competitive technical and financial proposals.

7. Organize and coordinate research activities, including stakeholder consultations, field missions, validation workshops, dissemination events, and other research-related engagements.

8. Maintain databases of research projects, consultancy assignments, research outputs, and institutional knowledge resources.

9. Support the monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance of research and consultancy assignments to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and professional standards.

10. Assist in assessing institutional and stakeholder research needs and contribute to the development and periodic review of ILPD's research agenda.

11. Contribute to the dissemination and publication of research findings through reports, policy briefs, workshops, conferences, and other knowledge-sharing platforms.

12. Support the preparation of periodic reports on research and consultancy activities undertaken by the Directorate.

13. Coordinate the management of consultancy contracts between the Institute and its clients, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and timely implementation of deliverables.

14. Perform any other research- and consultancy-related duties assigned by the supervisor or the Institute's Management.
