Job responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in electrical engineering with minimum 3 years of relevant experience in electrical design and supervision or Bachelor’s degree in
electrical engineering Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical design and supervision.
• Prepare and review electrical designs,
specifications, and plans.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies.
• Develop load calculations, single-line diagrams,
and panel schedules.
• Supervise installation of electrical systems
(lighting, power distribution, fire alarms,
emergency systems, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with local electrical codes,
safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with other engineers (Civil,
Electromechanical, Architectural) and
contractors.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation
and reports.
• Inspect, test, and commission electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site.
• Ensure quality assurance and control measures
are implemented.
• Provide technical input during procurement of electrical equipment and materials.
• Approved electrical system designs and drawings
• Inspection and testing reports
• As-built documentation
• Progress and technical reports as required.
• Final commissioning and handover documents
Key technical skills and knowledge required:
He/ she must be registered with the institution of Engineers Rwanda proven by a valid practicing certificate.

• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of national and
international standard codes
• Strong communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills

• Using measurement instruments to validate and fix issues
• Interpreting electrical diagrams
• Combining hardware and software to create functional systems
• Compliance testing
• Reliability and safety testing
• Generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity

• Understanding of AC/DC circuits
N.B: Proof of working experience is a must.
