This role is within the Rwanda Standards Board (RSB) and involves ensuring the accuracy and compliance of taximeters and timers.

Responsibilities or duties

• Perform Verification/type approval/ metrological controls of Taxi/Auto meters and timers
• Ensure the measurement traceability of taximeter verification standards are maintained
• Ensure fee allocated to verification activities is deposit as per the procedure in place
• Conduct activities under legal metrology such as metrological controls, verification and initiate the necessary follow up actions.
• Provide report to direct supervisor on work performed and matters affecting the work of the unit and the general execution of activities.
• Complete and maintaining records of activities conducted daily.
• Maintain the Quality Management System of the laboratory and other standard by conducting activities in accordance RS 438:2021 and procedures
• Implement the law governing metrology in Rwanda, ministerial orders, regulations and other applicable laws
• Account for monthly revenue generated from the execution of laboratory activities in the field pre-packaged commodities in number, length and area controls
• Maintain the laboratory in a tidy and organised manner at all times.
• Perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the direct supervisor and any other duly authorised person.
• Operate in compliance with organizational regulation and rules
