Description:
As a Technical and Electrical Engineer, your primary responsibilities revolve around ensuring the maintenance and repair of refrigerated storage and transport units to preserve fish quality. This role involves troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring refrigeration systems operate efficiently in the company’s daily operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration systems within refrigerated storage units, reefers and cold rooms, including diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues,
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair refrigerated storage units and transport refrigeration systems used in fish processing and distribution.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure operational efficiency.
- Inspect, test, and replace defective components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and electrical wiring.
- Conduct performance tests to identify issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Work with diesel-powered reefer units as needed, performing basic engine diagnostics and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
- Adhere to safety regulations and company policies while working on refrigeration equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service in our fish farming operations.
- Be able to install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communication, lighting and control systems in homes, businesses and factories
Skills:
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience as a Reefer Technician, Refrigeration Mechanic, or similar role.
- Certification in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with brands such as Carrier, Thermo King, or other reefer units is a plus.
- Electrical systems knowledge
- Circuitry and wiring installation
- Troubleshooting and problem solving
- Automation and control systems
- Safety procedures and protocols
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Reefer Technician, Refrigeration Mechanic, or similar role.
- Diploma or certification in HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical engineering, or related field.
- Experience working with brands such as Carrier, Thermo King, or other reefer units is a plus.
- 2 years electrical, technical or related degree
- Electrician license or equivalent certification
