Irembo Ltd is a technology company in the gov-tech and fin-tech spaces that designs and develops digital products focused on users in Africa, starting with Rwanda. Formerly RwandaOnline, Irembo started operations in 2014 with a mission to lead the digitization of government services in Rwanda.

Irembo Ltd is looking for companies to provide professional translation and content editing. The tender is subdivided into two indivisible lots:

Lot 1: English to Kinyarwanda

Lot 2: English to French

Irembo Ltd invites all interested and capable companies to submit their proposals in this regard. For full information about this tender, a complete Request for Proposals document in English may be obtained upon an email request sent to;  procurement@irembo.com.

• Certificates of domestic company registration
• A valid certificate issued by the Rwanda Social Security Board
• A valid tax clearance certificate issued by Rwanda Revenue Authority

IremboGov, Irembo’s pioneer product, is a government services platform. It combines public services with a payment solution and has enabled millions of Rwandans and foreigners to access, apply and pay for different services across Web and USSD platforms. So far, IremboGov has had a massive impact on the Rwandan government and citizens:

Project description

Background

Irembo platforms (website, USSD) are available to users in Kinyarwanda, English, and French. So for every feature or every communication to our users, we have to cater for these 3 languages.

To ensure that the contents of our platforms resonate with our audience in their native language, we are seeking to engage a service provider for the provision of professional translation and content editing on an as-needed basis. The service provider’s tasks will be delivering the below description of requirements.

Terms of reference for translation services

• Produce 100% accurate and timely translation of User Interface contents and communication messages from English to the target language. The proposed translations shall:

  • Be technically, linguistically, and grammatically correct.

  • Consistent across the platform in terms of completion and terminology usage.

  • Meet high-quality standards and be error-free.

  • Be aligned with the Irembo brand guidelines.

• Review the quality of existing UI content on the platform and propose recommendations to improve them.
• Review, proofread, and edit content written in English.
• UI contents usually include, but are not limited to form labels, form messages (confirmation, error), SMS and email notifications, UI labels or texts…
• Duration of the engagement: 1 year

Expected deliverables for the tender.

1. Technical proposal (80%):

   • Company profile (20%).
   • Similar projects executed in the past (20%).
   • CVs of translators and other team members. The company must have at least 2 qualified full-time translators in the team proposed (40%).
2. Financial proposal (20%).
