Lecturer Department of Languages Education (DLE) - CE at university of rwanda (UR). Level:3.III, Posts:2, Under Statute.
Responsibilities or duties
1. Teaching:
- Prepare and deliver subjects as outlined in the modules.
- Teach courses in the area of specialization.
- Evaluate students through continuous assessment, tests, and examinations.
2. Research:
- Develop research proposals aligned with the area of specialization and institutional thematic priorities.
- Secure internal and external funding for research activities.
- Conduct research aimed at addressing community challenges.
- Publish research findings at national, regional, and international levels.
- Supervise students’ research projects.
3. Community Outreach:
- Disseminate research findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop research-based policy briefs for policymakers.
- Participate in organizing national scientific conferences and workshops.
4. Consultancy:
- Undertake consultancy activities within the area of specialization.
- Successfully compete for income-generating consultancy projects.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
5. Relevant Qualifications:
Two (2) Lecturers:
- One (1) Lecturer with PhD in Performing Arts and Drama or PhD in Performing Arts or PhD in Musicology or PhD in Music or Dance and Drama or PhD in Theatre Arts
- One (1) Lecturer with PhD in Kiswahili or PhD in Kiswahili Education or PhD in Africa Languages
- Excellent communication in English
- Be of the Rwandan Nationality
6. Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Relevant teaching experience in Higher Learning Institutions.
- Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education or a validated Teaching Portfolio Certificate.
Experience needed
Relevant teaching experience in Higher Learning Institutions.

Exams to be conducted: Psychometric Test, Oral. Reports To: HoD Department of Languages Education (DLE) - CE.
