Job responsibilities
-Coordinate the Economic Development Unit under the supervision of the executive organ; -Work under the functional guidance of the Director General in charge of Urban Economic -Coordinate the implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting of the Unit, supervise all staff therein and instil the practice of knowledge management; -Coordinate the implementation of the City of Kigali actionable strategies or plans meant to monitor the localized implementation of national policies in the district and ensure the implementation of City of Kigali Council’s decisions in the district, pertaining to urban economic development; -Ensure direct technical working relationships of the unit with KESC, Investment and Revenue Generation Team at City of Kigali head office and Economic Development & Resource Generation at sector level; BDF, YEGO Centres and Business Development Centres, etc. -Coordinate campaigns meant to raise local population and key players’ awareness on existing opportunities and potential to attract investors in the district; -Produce analytical reports on urban economic development environment in the district; -Coordinate the development and implementation of capacity building programs aimed at enhancing small and medium entrepreneurs’ knowledge, skills and attitudes vis-à-vis investment and capital mobilization; -Build and maintain database on urban economic development indicators in the district; -Advise the district on matters pertaining to urban economic development; Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Duties and responsibilities: 1) Engineer in charge of street lights and electrification: - Work hand in hand with concerned entities internal and external stakeholders to design and update the urban electricity network and conduct regular inspections of public lighting and electrification coverage across the City of Kigali; - In close collaboration with concerned stakeholders, identify public lighting and maintenance needs across the City of Kigali and carry out a financial implication analysis in this regard and advise the institution accordingly; - Conduct or review pre-feasibility, feasibility plans of public street lighting and electrification across the City of Kigali; - Supervise, in close collaboration with the concerned stakeholders all works of public street lighting and maintenance across the City of Kigali; - Implement the Smart City Rwanda Master Plan in collaboration with stakeholders in relation to street lighting and electrification Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor. 2) Engineer in charge of Traffic lights and signage: - Ensure that all streets and roads in the City of Kigali have proper signage - Implement the Smart City Rwanda Master Plan in collaboration with stakeholders in relation to street signage - Supervise, in close collaboration with the concerned stakeholders all works of street signage implementation and maintenance across the City of Kigali; - Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
