Plumbing Technician at Musanze District
The Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances. The role involves interpreting blueprints, ensuring compliance with plumbing codes, troubleshooting issues, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints to assess or plan plumbing installations and layouts.
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, pipes, fittings, and fixtures (e.g., sinks, toilets, bathtubs).
- Cut, weld, and assemble pipes, tubes, and related components.
- Inspect and test plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and compliance with local regulations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, including leaks and clogged drains.
- Respond to customer inquiries and service call-outs in a timely manner.
- Prepare cost estimates for plumbing projects and repairs.
- Ensure all work adheres to local plumbing codes and standards.
- Perform quality control checks on completed work.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Advanced Diploma in Plumbing
- Bachelor’s Degree in Plumbing
Experience:
- 0 years of relevant experience (Entry-level position, training may be provided).
Required Competencies & Skills:
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of water allocation planning and principles.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency in pipefitting, welding, and fixture installation.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Results-oriented with attention to detail.
- Clear and effective communication (written and verbal).
- Strong interpersonal skills for customer interactions.
- Digital Literacy: Basic computer skills for documentation and estimates.
- Language Proficiency:
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English (required).
- Knowledge of French or Swahili is an added advantage.
Psychometric & Behavioral Competencies:
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues efficiently.
- Analytical Skills: Assess plumbing systems and recommend solutions.
- Time Management: Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

- Fieldwork involving physical labor (lifting, bending, working in tight spaces).
- May require emergency call-outs or overtime.
