Job Purpose

To deliver high-quality teaching and learning in line with the Cambridge Primary Curriculum, ensuring learners build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, science, and life skills while developing curiosity, confidence, and positive character.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching and Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge Primary curriculum.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Use learner-centered and play-based approaches appropriate for primary learners.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs.
  • Integrate ICT and creative teaching methods to enhance learning.
  • Promote curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking.
  • Maintain lesson plans and schemes of work.

2. Assessment and Learning Progress

  • Continuously assess learner progress using formative and summative assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner achievement.
  • Provide regular feedback to learners to support improvement.
  • Identify learners needing additional academic support and intervention.
  • Prepare learners for Cambridge Primary Checkpoint where applicable.

3. Classroom Management

  • Establish positive behavior expectations and routines.
  • Maintain a safe, caring, and disciplined classroom environment.
  • Promote respect, responsibility, and cooperation among learners.
  • Apply school behavior policies consistently.

4. Learner Welfare and Pastoral Care

  • Support learners’ emotional, social, and academic development.
  • Act as a class teacher/homeroom teacher.
  • Identify and support learners with additional needs.
  • Work closely with parents and school leadership to support learners.

5. Communication and Parent Engagement

  • Maintain regular and professional communication with parents.
  • Provide updates on learner progress and behavior.
  • Participate in parent meetings, conferences, and school events.

6. Professional Development

  • Participate in school and Cambridge training programs.
  • Engage in continuous learning and reflective practice.
  • Stay updated with best practices in Cambridge primary education.

7. Co-Curricular Activities

  • Support school events, clubs, excursions, and activities.
  • Actively contribute to school life beyond the classroom.

8. Administrative Responsibilities

  • Submit lesson plans, reports, and assessments on time.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Monitor and check students’ diaries regularly to ensure proper use and completion.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
