Rwanda Men’s Resource Center (RWAMREC) is a non-government organization whose aim is to address issues of negative masculinity, gender inequality by engaging men to play a significant role and as associates in partnership with women to prevent GBV and promote gender equality and equity, promotion of health families and women’s rights promotion. To date, RWAMREC operates and has offices in 21 Districts. The implementation is effected through community mobilization campaigns, capacity building to mainstream and implement MenEngage in existing programs and advocating for policy formulation and change to reflect male engagement approaches.
To fill-up its organization structure, RWAMREC would like to recruit a qualified.


Position: Accountant
Major duties and responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the RWAMREC Executive Secretary, the Accountant shall have the following roles and responsibilities:

  •  Ensure sound financial management and the budget execution
  • Be responsible of the proper accounting of the projects through the execution of daily and regular tasks
  • Utilize and manage all financial tools as required for effective accounting
  • Advise the Executive Secretary and the Coordinators on financial management of projects
  •  Participate in the annual budget preparation process by completing tasks which may be assigned by the Executive Secretary
  • Monitor budget versus expenditure for the projects on weekly and monthly basis
  •  Prepare and ensure that monthly, quarterly bi-annual and annual reports are submitted on time.
  •  Provide training on corporate finance systems to all field staff
  • Review list of all outstanding advances, and follow-up for prompt liquidation
  • Prepare monthly Bank reconciliations for projects, bank Accounts and target bank balance reports
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations on monthly basis
  • Ensure schedules for all balance sheet items are reviewed and dealt with as appropriate (accruals, payables and prepayments)
  •  Carry out any other tasks as will be required by supervisors for efficient and effective accounting
    Knowledge, Skills and Behaviors required to achieve the Objectives:


Knowledge

  • Depth knowledge of the Finance and accounting
  •  bachelor degree in Accounting or finance
  • Possession of a Professional qualification in accountancy (CPA or ACCA) is an added advantage.
  • 5 years’ working experience as an accountant
  •  Sound knowledge of financial management & control rules and practices as applied in using SAGE PASTEL
  •  Knowledge of accounting system specifically SAGE Pastel is a must
    Skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills appropriate to the audience
  • Proficient Computer skills and knowledge of accounting software is an advantage
  • Proven ability to manage multiple task to meet organization and donor’s requirements
  • Good English language skills(oral /written)
  • Knowledge of French is an advantage
