JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced CFO to join our team of performing professionals to help keep our finances insightful and instrumental to our continued growth. The CFO will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position. This seasoned strategist not only understands current accounting practices and trends, but has proven experience raising capital, dealing with external stakeholders, chief among them being the GoR, and adapting to change–both in growth and downsizing. As a member of our senior management, he or she will have to be comfortable in a leadership role that demands clear communication and presentation skills .

JOB DUTIES
• Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team
• Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team
• Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Ensure cash flow is compatible with company operations, by overseeing the day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, stakeholders’ negotiations, and internal control activities of the organization
• Responsible for sound cash management, investments, insurance and helping to drive the company’s financial strategy
• Lead the development and use of best-practice policies, practices, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross team communications and workflow
• Comply with financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, and enforcing compliance
• Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, identify areas of cost reduction and process enhancement
• Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and financing initiatives
• Monitor performance with tracking, establishing corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting for the board, management team, and the rest of the company
• Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable Financial Accounting Standards
• Board, Rwanda Revenue Authority, Rwanda Utility Regulation Authority, Attorney General, and other relevant regulatio

REQUIREMENTS
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; preference will be given to candidates with Master’s degree in accounting or finance
• A member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda (ICPAR), a Certified Public Accountant and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
• A minimum of 8 years in senior leadership positions
• Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
• Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
• Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
• Working knowledge of raising capital beyond traditional lines of credit
