Job Purpose
To provide a nurturing, safe, and stimulating learning environment for nursery learners, supporting their early development in communication, motor skills, social-emotional growth, creativity, and foundational learning through the Cambridge Early Years framework.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching and Learning
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate, play-based learning activities.
- Create a warm, engaging, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Support early development in language, numeracy, motor skills, and creativity.
- Use songs, storytelling, play, and hands-on activities to enhance learning.
- Differentiate activities based on individual developmental needs.
- Maintain simple lesson plans and activity plans.
2. Child Development and Assessment
- Observe and track children’s developmental progress.
- Maintain records of learning milestones and behavior.
- Provide feedback to parents on child development.
- Identify children needing additional support and report to leadership.
3. Classroom Management
- Establish routines that support safety, structure, and comfort.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and child-friendly environment.
- Promote positive behavior through gentle guidance and reinforcement.
4. Child Welfare and Safeguarding
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
- Follow safeguarding and child protection policies strictly.
- Report concerns promptly to school leadership.
5. Communication and Parent Engagement
- Maintain daily communication with parents when necessary.
- Provide regular updates on child progress and behavior.
- Participate in parent meetings and school events.
6. Professional Development
- Participate in early years and school training sessions.
- Engage in continuous learning in early childhood education.
- Apply best practices in early childhood development.
7. Co-Curricular Activities
- Support school events, celebrations, and class activities.
- Encourage creativity through arts, music, and play.
8. Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance records and child development files.
- Prepare simple reports and documentation as required.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. (ECCE or DECE)
- Teaching qualification/license recognized by relevant authorities.
- Fluent English/French communication skills.
- Experience with Cambridge Early Years or an international curriculum.
- Knowledge of play-based and child-centered learning approaches.
- Experience working in multicultural environments.
- Child development knowledge.
- Classroom management and safeguarding.
- Strong communication with parents.
- Creativity in lesson delivery.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to support children's social, emotional, and academic development.
- Acts and behaves with professionalism and integrity at all times.
Experience Required
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Early Years/Nursery education.
