Job Purpose
The Music Teacher is responsible for teaching Music to students using French as the language of instruction. The role focuses on developing students’ musical skills, creativity, and artistic appreciation through both practical and theoretical learning aligned with the school curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Music in French in line with the school curriculum
- Develop students’ vocal, rhythmic, and instrumental skills
- Introduce and teach basic music theory (reading notes, rhythm, harmony)
- Prepare students for performances, concerts, and cultural events
- Plan structured lessons adapted to different age groups and ability levels
- Assess students’ progress and provide regular feedback
- Create a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment
- Participate in organizing school events such as concerts, performances, and cultural celebrations
- Collaborate with other teachers within the department and the wider school community
Assessment and Learning Progress
- Continuously assess students’ musical development and performance
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements
- Use a variety of assessment methods (practical, written, and performance-based)
- Provide constructive feedback to support student improvement
- Ensure learning objectives are achieved in line with curriculum standards
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a disciplined, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
- Manage classroom routines effectively during practical and theoretical lessons
- Ensure proper use and care of musical instruments and classroom resources
- Promote active participation and positive behavior among learners
Learner Welfare and Pastoral Care
- Support the emotional and social well-being of students in class
- Encourage confidence, creativity, and self-expression through music
- Identify learners who need additional support and report appropriately
- Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Communication and Parent Engagement
- Communicate student progress and concerns to parents when necessary
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school communication channels
- Provide feedback on student performance in a clear and professional manner
- Collaborate with parents to support student learning and development
Professional Development
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and staff development programs
- Continuously improve teaching methods and musical knowledge
- Reflect on teaching practice and implement improvements
- Stay updated with modern music education approaches and tools
Co-Curricular Activities
- Support and participate in school concerts, performances, and events
- Assist in organizing music clubs, choirs, or instrumental groups
- Encourage student involvement in artistic and cultural activities

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Music in the French language.
