THE JOB
As the Sales Manager you will be tasked with establishing and growing the client’s commercial presence in Rwanda while supporting business development activities in Burundi. The role will guide customer acquisition, market development, inland logistics growth and strategic account management in a greenfield market. You will drive profitable growth, increase market share and create long-term customer relationships while representing the client in Rwanda and supporting the future establishment of a permanent client organization.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Sales & Business Development
- create and execute the commercial strategy for Rwanda and assist Burundi.
- Acquire new customers and grow existing accounts.
- Promote ocean freight, carrier haulage and inland logistics solutions.
- create sales pipeline and strategic opportunities.
Customer Relationship Management
- perform customer visits and business reviews.
- guide contract implementation and service recovery.
- keep CRM opportunities and account plans.
Commercial Performance
- Deliver agreed volume, revenue and profitability targets.
- track market trends and competitor activities.
- assist pricing and commercial planning.
Market Representation
- Represent the client with customers, authorities and industry stakeholders.
- assist future entity establishment and market expansion.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- organize with Operations, Customer Service, Finance and regional teams to ensure seamless customer delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
The job holder should have the following qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in shipping, freight forwarding or logistics sales.
- Knowledge of ocean freight and inland logistics.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Fluent English; French and/or Kinyarwanda is an advantage.
- Strong commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
