Youth Skills and Innovation Promotion Specialist is responsible for fostering the development of young people's skills and encouraging innovation within youth communities.
Responsibilities or duties,
- Design and implement skill development programs tailored to the needs of young people, focusing on areas such as digital literacy, employability skills (technical and soft skills) including communication skills, problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity
- Develop mechanisms to support youth innovations
- Forge partnerships with Government institutions and private sector as well as development partners and other stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise in promoting youth skills development and innovation.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to young people to help them identify their strengths, interests, and career goals. Offer guidance on how to develop relevant skills, pursue educational opportunities, and navigate the job market.
- Support aspiring young entrepreneurs by providing training, resources, and networking opportunities to help them launch and grow their businesses. Offer guidance on business planning, fundraising, marketing, and other aspects of entrepreneurship.
- Conduct research to identify emerging trends and best practices in youth skills development and innovation. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives and use data-driven insights to continuously improve strategies and outcomes.
- Advocate for policies and investments that support youth skills development and innovation at local, national, and international levels. Engage with policymakers, influencers, and stakeholders to raise awareness and drive change.
