The Youth Health and Welfare Promotion Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and initiatives aimed at improving the health and well-being of youth in Rwanda.
Responsibilities or duties,
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct research, formulate policies, programmes and strategies to ensure young people are healthier and promotion of youth wellbeing.
- Design and implement health promotion programs targeting youth empowerment;
- Formulate policies, programs and projects targeting youth social welfare;
- Coordinate joint interventions for youth health and social welfare;
- Conduct research and propose the research-based policy actions to address teenage pregnancy;
- Advocate for policies and practices that support youth health and well-being;
- Facilitate young people to have access on mental wellness services and counseling to youth on health-related issues.
Conduct monitoring, evaluation and implementation of national programs related to health and social welfare among youth:
- Follow up and evaluate the implementation of the youth health and social welfare;
- Analyze reports on youth health and social welfare and provide policy recommendations;
- Monitor the progress of the implementation of different programs implemented by both public institutions and development partners
Initiate partnerships with key players intervening in Youth health and welfare
- Initiate and participate in consultations with youth stakeholders to elaborate national programs, strategies and policies intended to promote Youth health and social welfare;
- Initiate MoUs between the Ministry and partners & monitor its implementation.
Reporting
- Prepare the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports of activities and report them to the supervisor;
- Carry out any other assignment as requested by the supervisor;
- Prepare analytical reports on key areas in youth health and social welfare promotion which require special attention and advise accordingly
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills),
