We wish to fill the above position in our Rwanda Subsidiary – Britam Insurance Company (Rwanda) Ltd. Only Rwandese candidates are eligible. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. .

  Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure prompt registration of the claims; appointment of loss adjustors in collaboration with the underwriting and claims manager; follow up the settlement of claims and service providers fees;
• Analyze all claims and identify all risks and ensure processing of all claims as per company policy;
• Review service providers’ reports to ensure it is of quality and conforms to agreed service levels and make a settlement and make a settlement or any other suitable recommendations;
• Ensure adherence to processes in the claims section as per the set policies;
• Provide the management the necessary reports and updates on claims matters;
• Regular review of the adequacy of the reserves;
• Manage claim costs via strategic Initiatives to ensure the profitability of the business;
• Ensure customer satisfaction and retention via efficient claims processing and settlement;
• Supervise all claims recovery processes ensure that recoveries are made on time and at minimal costs;
• Provide the information required by both internal and external auditors to ensure complete and efficient audit process and ensure implementation of audit recommendations;
• Ensure the accuracy and validity of claims paid;
• Approval of payments and discharge vouchers within limits;
• Maintenance correct data;
• Assist in identifying training needs for the department;
• Train, coach and mentor staff to improve performance and cohesion;

  Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in insurance (or its equivalent);
• Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII/AIIK/FLMI)
• 5-7 years of successful insurance experience

• Accountable to the Underwriting and Claims Manager;
• Required to liaise and work closely with the other business heads as may be necessary
External Relationships:
• Regulatory Authorities

• Britam customers
