Sponsorship Professional Intern at World Vision Rwanda
World Vision is a child-focused Christian humanitarian organization implementing development programmes in 30 Districts of Rwanda. Our interventions in the strategic period of 2021-2025 seek to reach 2 million of the most vulnerable children. This is done through programming in Resilience and Livelihoods, WASH and Health, Child Protection and Education.
Purpose of the Sponsorship Intern
The role holder will support the Sponsorship department with processing correspondences, communications with field teams and logistics support handling. He /She will also support other colleagues in the department to sponsorship data accuracy and reporting end-to-end to grow impact for more vulnerable children.
The intern will be guided on the internal processes and procedures in facilitating the above tasks.
The intern will report to the Sponsorship Manager.
Major Responsibilities
- Sponsorship Correspondence Processing Support (To & Fro): Assist in receiving, sorting and dispatching of Sponsor Letters and Chosen Introductory Letters, ensuring that all sponsor and sponsored child information is complete and accurate. This includes tracking and helping data entry into Sponsorship Horizon Hope.
- Communication with Field Teams & Courier Service Providers: Support the regular flow/delivery of parcels for sponsors, such as letters and updates for sponsored children. This will enable ensuring that sponsors' queries are minimized, timely delivery of invoices, DHL/NPO/FEDEX courier tracking tools; fostering a strong professional relationship and engagement for national & cluster offices and stakeholders (courier service providers).Participate in external meetings with Government officials, and other key Strategic Partners
- Logistics support: Assist in the organizing of events such as meetings/trainings for sponsorship, including field visits, debrief and many where necessary. This could involve timely purchase requisitions and purchase orders issuance, preparing materials, and supporting logistical arrangements for these activities to ensure smooth execution and alignment with sponsorship plans.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- University Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Business Administration, IT or any other related field(s)
- At least graduated in any of the above-mentioned disciplines.
- Computer literacy skills
- Experience in Correspondence/letters writing and donor/sponsor engagement
- Good analytical skills with attention to details
- Child friendly or engagement skills
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Other Competencies/Attributes:
- Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities
- Customer Care Skills
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Well organized, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills
- Forward-thinking and innovative, with an ability to write quality reports, analyze and Interprete results with advanced Microsoft skills ( MS Excel, MS Powerpoint etc)
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic team environment
